Children of the Confederacy
Matthew Fontaine Maury Chapter 971
The Children of the Confederacy® is an organization of young people from infancy through their eighteenth birthday who are descendants of men or women who served the Confederate States of America with honor. The objectives of the organization are to broaden members' scope of interest in projects that are Historical, Benevolent, Educational, Patriotic, and Memorial.
Members honor and perpetuate the memory and deeds of the high principles of the men and women of the Confederacy. They observe properly all Confederate Memorial Days and encourage the ties of friendship among members of the organization. They serve society through civic affairs and perpetuate national patriotism as our ancestors once defended their beliefs.
The Matthew Fontaine Maury Chapter 971 is sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter 972, United Daughters of the Confederacy®. If you are interested in becoming a member of Matthew Fontaine Maury Chapter 971, please contact our CofC Director, Mrs. Betty Mastin, who will provide you with all necessary information and a copy of the Children of the Confederacy® application form.
